Sunday Dinner (Q1 of 2022 ) Hosted by Danez Smith
February 27, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Sunday Dinner is a quarterly cultural gathering space for Black Minnesotans to convene, break bread, dialogue, and build collective power.
About this event
This joy-centered and multifaceted event offers Black Minnesotans a space amongst themselves to discuss the current social circumstance within the community, their role in it, and what can be done to improve the social circumstance for Black folx. There will be music, breakout rooms for small group conversations, performances, prize giveaways, and more.
Hosted by Danez Smith, our first Sunday Dinner of 2022 invites us to a Lorde style Kitchen Table talk conversation centering on the opportunities that we have to work together to create a healthier social circumstance for Black people in Minnesota. What can we do? What do we want to see? What are the resources that we have already?
In addition to these critical conversations, we invite all attendees to lean into Sunday Dinner, Black History Month, and all who came before us by preparing a dish that has been passed down to you by a loved one.
Can’t wait to build with you. For questions, please contact info@truartspeaks.org – thank you!
